Clint Eastwood
plays real life convict Frank Morris who succeeded in his daring nighttime
dash from the island prison (or did he?) in 1979's Escape
from Alcatraz. Donald Siegel directs Eastwood, as well as Danny Glover
in Glover's debut feature. Morris and his co-conspirators made paper models
of their own heads to get past a bed check by guards. Today the Morris
cell and others are staged as they appeared during the escape for a segment
of "America's Most Wanted" on TV.
