In
November, 2002, the North Beach institution Green
Street Mortuary joined the ranks of San Francisco's notorious
locations when the California Department of Consumer Affairs accused the
funeral home of failing to scatter or deliver the cremated remains of several
customers, storing an embalmed body in a refrigerator for four years, failing
to file a death certificate, and failing to obtain authorization before
embalming a body.
