Millions watch as San Francisco and the rest of the world are visited by spaceships in V, the epic 1983 miniseries about Earth's first contact with aliens. The (V)isitors are initially friendly and are welcomed by the people of Earth. Soon it's discovered that the aliens are masquerading in human form to earn our trust and rape our resources in order to save their dying planet. Written and directed by Kenneth Johnson, V stars Marc Singer, Faye Grant, Bonnie Bartlett, and Jane Badler in the highly memorable role of the alien leader known as Diana. A popular special effect demonstrated the alien diet of live mice.
